How finished minutes are counted
The short answer
Starting a video holds its footage length, plus a small margin. When the render finishes you are charged the finished length and the rest comes back. A run that stops is not charged.
| Moment | What happens to your minutes |
|---|---|
| Start | The footage length plus 5% (at least 2 seconds) is held. |
| Waiting for review | The hold lasts 24 hours. |
| Render finishes | The finished length is charged once. The rest is released. |
| A stage stops | Nothing is charged. Retry uses the same hold. |
| You cancel | The hold is released. |
Minutes are shared by every workspace on the account and reset each month. The Usage tab shows what is used, what is held and when the period resets, for example “4:20 of 30:00 finished minutes used. Resets 1 October.”
