Make a 9:16 version for Reels, Shorts and TikTok
The short answer
From a finished job, choose Create another format and Portrait 9:16. It uses the same approved words, narration and caption style, and keeps the whole picture, padded with black rather than cropped.
- Open the finished job.
- Choose Create another format, then Portrait 9:16. The dialog shows your captions as the new format will burn them in, clear of the bottom fifth where Reels, Shorts and TikTok place their controls.
- The new version renders at 1080 × 1920. Your current video stays available.
- Choose Use as default if the new version is the one you publish.
If a word is too long for the narrower frame, the dialog says so and the format can't be made with those captions.
Each format is charged its finished length. Square is not available.

- Shape, length and resolution of the finished videoThe finished video keeps your footage's length, shape and resolution. It is an H.264 MP4 with AAC audio at 30 frames per second.
- How finished minutes are countedStarting a video holds its footage length, plus a small margin. When the render finishes you are charged the finished length and the rest comes back. A run that stops is not charged.
